Fading between video layers, and keep/detach audio

Hello!
I am editing together a video with 2 camera angles, and am new to Vegas. I was wondering if there was a way to fade in and out the top video track easily so that the track below would fade in, there by fading from one camera angle to the next. I know that you can slice the top layer and then fade it out/in, which works, but I lose the audio on the top track, which is the primary audio.

Also, is there a way to detach audio from its video, so I can keep the audio in tact while chopping up the video?

Thanks!!
-Austin

Use the fade handle on the top edge of the video and it will fade out the visual, and not the audio.

To ungroup, press U on the selected clip.

YOu can lock the audio track, or you can ungroup the audio and video.
