Hello,

From my recent purchase of Vegas Pro and Cinescore, on start up of ether program I get an error window:

"An error occurred while starting (Cinescore or Pro)
Failed to register with windows terminal service.

I click OK and proceed with no noticeable effect. Should I be concerned? I'm not accessing a application or data on a remote computer over a network unless its something that the application using.

I'm running XP Pro SP3.

This error is probably occuring because someone or something has disabled Terminal Services on your machine.

A lot of XP tweak lists will advise you to disable this claiming that it slows the machine down and that you don't need it. Neither of these claims seem to be true - I can't detect any speed difference between TS running and not running, and TS is needed to support Fast User Switching, a useful feature of XP.

If you have applied this tweak then simply undo it, reboot, and the error message should be a thing of the past. If you need instructions on how to do this, have a look in the Knowledgebase here.

Maybe SP3 disabled it for som extra security reason. Anyway it's good to know.
