Failure on Opening .wmv vid

Hello,

I attempted to open a .wmv vid for editing and received the following error:

"Warning: An Error occurred while opening one or more files. Error 0xc00d002b (message missing)"

In details all I see is:

"<filename> could not be opened".

Any ideas as to what the problem is?

Not sure about it.
Maybe the .wmv-file used a codec version you does not have installed on your system - as the latest verion 8. You can get this version for free from the Microsoft homepage.

The "0xc00d002b" error is indeed a codec missing. Does the video play in Windows Media Player?

Yes it plays in Windows Media Player, but stops part way through (which is why I wanted to edit it). So I know the codec missing is not the problem.
