I believe text mods are limited to what you see on the configuration menu--boldface and italic.

I think VV3 is a terrific program, but rolling credits are something to be improved (hopefully) in the next version. For now, I go back and use the excellent TitleDeko rolling credits in Studio7, then import the avi over to Vegas.

Well, yes & no. If you use the standard credit-roll plugin, not to my knowledge.
But, you could always use the basic text plugin (which has outline/shadow/glow fx)and animated them in scroll pattern with track-motion. Would be a bit tedious creating several text screens and scrolling them - but would do the trick.

* actually- you could create a credit roll on transparent background.
Then make a copy of it. Place the copy on track below, offset slightly, and make text color semi-transparent.... maybe add a blur to the track to feather it a bit

personally, i think credit rolls are best with simply white text & black background.
Effects can make them difficult read.

Shadows are easy. Simply put the roll on a separate track and use Track Motion to make the shadow. Save the preset for future use when you get it right. You can add an outline this way also.

I roll credit over video, plain white text is just too flat and "blend-in" with the background. I found myself going back to Premiere 6.5 for credit roll which you can add outline and shadow to your text, plus inserting graphics into your credit roll. To have all of these done at one place, on a single track is a major time saving!
