Fast forward causes crash

Here's the scoop.

I created an awesome DVD (thanks SoFo) with a 1 hr 17 min
movie.

2 pages of scene selection (animated background, thumbnails, and bg sound).

Also 2 bonus features: Each about 5 min.

Burned on my Sony DRU-500 at 2x speed on to a DVD-R.

Everything works great except for one thing. When I fast forward
just one of the 5 min bonus features it hangs. Only thing I can do
is go back to the menu.

This particular file was encoded using TmpGenc because Vegas could
not recognize the entire avi file. It would put black over some scenes.
The avi was rendered using the DV Encoder codec in Pinnacle's Studio 8.
Don't get me started there, I'm using Vegas now, enough said.

Anyway, anyone have any ideas? Was it the encoding with TmpGenc? Maybe
it was burning at 2x instead of 1x? Maybe the fact that I barely made it
under 4.37 GB.

Should I have DVD architect force the re-encode of this file?

Thanks for the help,
