Fast-motion video

Hey,

I am trying to make a compilation of me building some things and wanted to put it into really fast motion so it doesn't take 3 hours to watch me make it. I tried the "ctrl drag" method, It worked, but only so far, then it wouldn't let me shrink it anymore. Is there any way to make if go faster / shrink it more? Thanks!

To make it go faster, you'll have to render the video out to a new file (I suggest as an AVI file), bring the new file into the timeline, ctrl-drag it to make that faster, render again.... repeat until you get it to the desired speed.

that seems simple enough, thanks!

From what I understand, unless you have the Vegas PRO version, you don't have the "velocity envelope" feature. Therefore the most you can speed up/down is 25%. So If my math degree serves me right, then doing this twice gets you about 56% faster / 44% slower than the original; 3X = 95% faster, 58% slower; 4x = 243% faster / 69% slower....Somebody check my math; it's been 25 years.

Not quite. The range is from 25% to 400% of the original speed. So once gets you 4x, twice is 16x, thrice is 64x.
