fast mov footage-trimmer vs preview difference

i've got a footage from a football match shot on ex1 720p50 wth shutter speed 1/250. all looks good and sharp until i put that on the timeline... then the preview shows is smudged, unsharp etc...

here's the screen with the same frame in trimmer and preview window...

what am i doing wrong?

You are using a 50p clip in a 25p project. Try disabling resample (right hand click on the clip, Select Properties, click Disable resample).
