FAT32 Render problems?

Has anyone experienced problems rendering to a FAT32 drive? My C & D drives are NTFS, and my external firewire 250 GB drive is... or was FAT32. I stored all my projects on my external drive, and rendered to it as well. I don't know if this was a problem, but my Vegas kept crashing ever since I purchased the external hard drive. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Does it matter if the external is FAT32 and my regular drives are NTFS? I recently converted my external to NTFS, and haven't had a problem since.

FAT32 drives have a maximum file size limit of 4GB. If you try to render a file larger than that then Vegas will have problems. There really isn't any reason to stay with FAT32 if you can use NTFS.

I KNEW IT! That's why I had so many crashes, because of the file size limit. It was only Vegas that kept crashing, basically when I render. And each error message I got dealt with a device driver, or memory. I was going thru a nightmare, becase I got 3 projects due this coming friday. Thnx Chienworks... that explanation works for me.

There's only two good things about FAT 32:
1) Macs can mount FAT 32 volumes
2) It's more efficient so if you've got tiny drives in say a laptop you can fit more onto them if they're FAT 32.

Sorry couldn't resist. All in good fun.......
