I was sitting here thinking about licensing issues for Dolby Digital and DVD logos etc, and I started to wonder about licenese fees for usign the FBI Warning screen that is seen at the beginning of most films.

Does anyone know there is a fee associated with it and where to get a copy of the logo to use as my basis to create my own FBI warning etc?

As far as I know, since the FBI is an entity of the US government, nothing it creates can be copyrighted - if they don't want someone using something of theirs, it just becomes classified.

In this case - no worries about using FBI logo... don't have to pay them any fees.. you already are! they are called taxes! (if ur us citizen that is)

wouldn't expect them to jump though if you called em up after u found out someone copied one of your vidoes :)

Unless I am mis-reading what you are asking - all you have to do is just create your own. And really it depends on how detailed you want to get and what country you are going out to.
If you wanted to "buy" the graphics places do sell them - here is just one of them: http://www.maxent.org/video/dvd_warnings.html.
Please take note that I do not endorse buying anything like this from that link, I just provided it to show you a place that does sell this. And just an FYI - the MPAA ratings and logo are not 'legal to sell or use unless you actually submit your project to the MPAA and get a rating...and even then everything that the rating and/or MPAA logo appears on has to be approved by the MPAA. The Interpol and FBI warnings do not fall under the MPAA as far as I am aware of - that is why I said to just make your own.

OK. So if you have an FBI warning about the fact that you are showing an FBI warning, are you guilty twice for copyright infringement? Mmmm....

Saw a great warning on a video at work. A training video for some type of software. I can't remember the name of the company producing it or the subject (perhaps more attention should be paid in training classes?) but the basis was somethng like "Dear Creative Media Professional, you hate it whenpeople steal your product, this is our product do not make copies"

I thought it was great
