This isn't exactly exciting but I think it's a good idea. I'll send it in as a feature request as well but thought I'd put it out there.
Vegas could use some level of clip verification to make sure that the clip you recapture is the one you want. This could be done by comparing timecode and time of day info.
Here's my situation. I'm looking at paper logs of about 30 tapes. I want to recapture everything with a certain keyword in the description. In the course of this I find the Vidcap's log of the tape is terribly messed up and I'd like to just delete all the entries and recapture the tape.
This creates a problem with old projects that use the media. The clip names in the sfvidcap file won't be the same any more. If I restore an old project and recapture the media it'll all be wrong.
If Vegas could do a compare operation to verify all the clips then this could be preventable. This is the sort of feature that starts to become more useful as people get years of usage behind them.
