Hi all --
I am just coming up to speed on Vegas after years of using Premiere and other video editors. There are many things I like, but I think there are two glaring weaknesses --
* It needs the ability to do non-destructive effects on individual clips ("events"), not just tracks and busses. Even Premiere 6, which is otherwise inferior to Vegas in every sound category, has this ability. I am trying to make ADR clips sound like production sound, which requires reverb and EQ effects on every clip individually.
* It needs the ability to save "workspaces" or "layouts". The docked window system works OK, but I want vastly different layouts and sizes of windows, depending on what task I am doing. Now it is time-consuming and annoying to make all these changes by hand every time I change tasks. I even hoped I could write my own layouts and implement them with scripts, but you have not exposed the UI to javascript programming.
