Few questions from a newbie !!!

Hi everybody....I recently got Vegas 5.0 and even after I've read the manual, I'm still confuse. I have a few questions. Hope somebody will help me.Let's start.....I have successfuly captured (video) and saved my project and I did the rendering....too early I think... My question are...
1. I want to add a title. Do I have to do the rendering again after saving it?

2. I've tried to add a title with a transparent background without any success. Every time I preview the movie, I still see a solid background even if if it seems to be transparent in the time line. There's no box to check to make a transparent background. What do I do wrong? Which number should I put in the RGB boxes?

3. Once everything is done, can I burn the DVD with Vegas or I can use another sofware?

Thank you for your patience...

None of the above. Right click the file containing the alpha channel, choose Properties. Then look at the media tab, select Alpha Channel at the bottom, choose Straight.

You'll need either DVD Architect or another burning software. Vegas can burn SVCD's from the timeline, VCDs from the timeline, but not DVDs. You CAN, and should render MPEG2 within Vegas, however.

If you have one track with transparency then what comes through is what's on the track(s) below. If there's nothing there you'll get black.
So try using the text generator, select one of the transparent presets.
Now put a different solid color on the track below and it'll show through the transparent parts of the track above.
I know this is a trvial example but once you see it work on something real simple then you'll see how to do the more complex things.
