Which file formats besides WAV support Media Manager tag data and Acid Loop metadata? And is it advisable to use a compressed or lossless format for making an online library of my stock music tracks, sound effects and Acid loops?
I would like to tag my stuff in Media Manager, and save the tag info into the files so the database could be rebuilt if I every needed to start over or change libraries in Media Manager. I would include reference to the original source disk, in case I ever needed to retrieve the original WAV. I would start by batch converting my stack of CDs into a common compressed format, saved onto my "library" harddisk. Surely others have done this and have some experience on what to do, or NOT to do.
The only relevant post I found advised against saving loops as mp3, because there could be some null samples inserted at the beginning or end of an mp3, which would screw up a loop. Ogg doesn't support Acid metadata. PCA can't be used outside Sony apps. WMA seems to support Media Manager tags and Acid loop info.
