File & Project transfer

How do i transfer files to a new hard drive without loosing the path? When i have done this in the past and i try to access a project i moved to the new hard drive i always seem to loose the project.

If i rename me file or project will i loose the path to it?

This happens to me all the time when I bring work projects home to work on them.
All I do is open the veg file, point to the new folder locations when prompted (Vegas is very good at remembering subsequent locations) and re-save it when I'm done.
Doing this takes me 2 minutes (at most), even with large complex projects.
