File saving question

Hi,
For editing videos on Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 9.0 I use Sony AVCHD files with the file extension .mts. I'm wanting to save my finished videos onto my hard drive in Full HD so that I can play it on my PS3, or direct on my Panasonic HD TV. If I select "Make Move > save it to my hard drive" and select under "file type" "sony AVC (*.mp4, m2ts, *avc) it always saves as mp4, which neither my PS3 or TV recognises. Both the TV and PS3 can read AVCHD but with the file extensions .mts or .m2ts. Is there a way I can save files from Sony Vegas in the .mts or .m2ts format?
Cheers

You can just manually change the file suffix to M2v or MTS.

You seem to be creating the right kind of video file, but your device just isn't recognizing it.

(Or you can just create a BluRay video disc.)

Use one of the given AVCHD presets of the Sony AVC file type.

Thanks for the replies. I've managed to figure it out. When I go to the settings as mentioned, if I go to advanced render settings and click on the same file setting as before it now changes the files type to .m2ts. Hopefully it will recognise it now. I'll post back when I've tried it.

I use the Sony AVC 1920x1080 60i template. Click 'custom' then go to the system tab. The choice for format should be m2ts. I use that for the PS3.

Well after finding out how to change the file extension to m2ts the PS3 now recognises the files. Unfortunately the TV doesn't, but as long as I can view them via the PS3 that's fine. Thanks for the responses.
