File Size

When I went to make a movie, I selected the "Burn to DVD" option. It rendered the file and the size was around 6 GB. Then I went into Sonic MY DVD and burned the file onto DVD and it was only around 3.5 GB or so. So I had over a GB of unused DVD space

My Question is....how do you know how much space on the DVD the movie will take? and.......why did the file size go from 6GB to on 3.5 GB?

Thanks in advance

I don't use My DVD or the Burn to DVD option, so I may not be able, but was 6GB the actual file size after rendering or estimated file size when you went to render it?

It was the actual file size after rendering. You then bring that file into Sonic MYDVD and then burn it to DVD

What was the file type of the first file? It sounds like it was an avi, except the difference in sizes seems too little!

Is it possible that My DVD re-rendered and compressed the files even more?
