File Sizes .mp4 vs .mov

I've created a 4 minute clip of a triathlon that I shot over the weekend. I first rended the project using MainConcepts AVC/AAC to take advantage of the h.264 codec format. The file size ended up being about 18 mb. The problem I'm having is that on my website, the file has to completely load before start playing. I've added the quicktime parameter autoplay="true" but still doen't do the fast start. Once it's loaded the first time, then of course each subsequent visit to the page works fine.

I've even tried switching to rendering as a .mov but I can't get the file size to anything under 100 mb.

Any thoughts...thanks in advance.

Try Sorenson 3 (SVQ3) 320 x 240 (if 4:3) at a FR of 14.985 (unless there is a lot of motion). Use MPGA audio (MP3) at 512 kbps or AAC . Sample Rate of 16,000HZ Raise video quality slider after each test until it strikes a compromise between file size and video/audio quality.
