Files turn green

I downloaded the new version of Vegas since the last one one had some format issues. And now, there's another problem. Files in the timeline randomly turn green.

They still play fine, but I can't see what I'm selecting. the same thing happens on the 'project media' area. The files I import shows up green, so I can't know what to choose.

Please help, I can't edit like this. It seems like everything I do theres still problems in the program.

What type of files are they? What format? Where did they come from? I see that occasionally on some downloaded videos that are very poorly encoded.

*sigh* do I need to post my file format for every problem that program has? lol

They are MOD. files from my Hard Drive JVC Everio Camcorder.

That's about as much I can tell you. Why does it start doing that on the new version, while the old one worked fine. Like I said, it's like trading in a problem to get another one.

if there's someway to fix it, please help. changing camera isn't an option, I'm broke

Do they turn green in the timeline or in the preview window? Do they remain green after render? If not in final product, is your video card relatively new and is the driver recently updated?

They turn green in the timeline, and in the project media bin. Sometimes though, the beginning frame of a clip will be green. So when I render it, there's a green flash in the video.

can anyone help? I don't know what to do. I can't edit like this. Yesterday I spent 6 hours working on a trailer, and when I finally render it, green spots are all over it.

It's the latest version, so there's no version to upgrade to. I can't believe I'm actually thinking of going back to my old version. At least there were no green stuff.

Please help, I can't present that trailer like it is.

Do you see the same issues with other file types or only .mod? If with all file types, perhaps you need to uninstall & reinstall?

I'm not gonna lie, mod. files are basically all I have on the computer. The few stuff I render don't seem to do it, but then again not all mod. files do. I'll try reinstalling it later when I get home. hopefully that does something

I reported this problem a while ago myself, with the canon fs100. It only happens when rendering to wmv files, right?
Perhaps, until this issue is solved, you can render to another format, like mov or mp4.

it does that no matter how I render it.
