Film Mix in 5.1 using Vegas

In other posts I've mentioned I sound designed and mixed a short, 30 minute, feature called 'Death' Requiem' by director Marc Furmie using Vegas.

It was mixed in both 5.1 and stereo for video.

The film was always destined for the film festival circuit and I'm pleased to announce that so for it has received entry into the following festivals

Method Fest on 31 March at 1.30PM
Louis B. Mayer Theatre
23388 Mulholland Drive
Woodland Hills, CA 91371

Newport Beach Film Festival (USA) - April 19-29

St Kilda Film Festival (Melbourne) June 5-10

Swansea Bay (UK) June

Some of these festivals will only screen off video so will have the stereo (LtRt) mix but St Kilda is capable of replaying the DVD with 5.1.

Although shot on film in Super 16mm and finished on HDCAM the film makers haven't had the funding for the 35MM print they'd like to distribute so the options so far are HDCAM, Digibeta, SP or DVD.

The DVD is the only format carrying the 5.1 mix. I mastered it myself in DVDA4b for them.

So if you are inclined to attend any of these festivals keep your eyes, and ears, out for Death's Requiem.
