filmlook parameters

Hey,

i've been using spot's filmlook tutorial and found it great. One thing that I've been having some difficulties is how much "film grain" should i put to emulate 8mm, 16mm and 35 mm look?
The Vegas presets only give us subtle, extreme and color.
The zenote film grain plugin has this presets(8mm, 16mm and 35 mm) and it really helps.

Is there a way of doing it? I'm asking this because of the changes in the process of film will moidify the final result. So two 35mm films may not have the same look or grain.

There is no 'right' answer for this one. It's based around your eye. Zenote' gives you a great starting point, but it might appear to be too grainy or not enough to your eye. It's an effect, not a 'drop and forget it' thing. It requres you to look at it externally, decide what you like. Different filmstocks will behave differently as well, so the question is how much do YOU like and think is most film-like?

Well... 8mm/16mm/35mm... OK... but 100ASA , 200ASA or 400ASA ???
Like Spot said, it's very subjective and considering you can adjust a few parameters in Vegas, you should be able to find what fits you the most.
Maybe try to "emulate" some parts of films you like ("grainly" speaking) with the parameters you've got ?
Try a *little bit* of Glow fx too, it's not just about grain...(!)
And put ND filters in front of that lens when you shoot! ;)
