Filmstock presets

SimonW wrote on 12/27/2005, 10:38 AM
For a bit of fun today I transferred some of the basic filmstock look presets from Colour Finesse and FilmFX2 into some Vegas plugin chain presets. You can download them here http://www.simonwyndham.co.uk/Filmstock_presets.htm

Some of the differences look very subtle, and in many case you might not see the difference. Although experimentation in your own footage as always is needed. I also added some very quick customs of my own. Although I will be adding some more in depth ones at a later time.

They look great but i cant get them to show up in the filter pakages.
can you specify what folder?
Ive tried Vegas6.0/presets
the preset m folder but no go...
I noticed that your extensions are .sfv and many of the others i have imported via the preset manager are .sfg

Your presets look realy great I hope I can get them to work.
help!....

FWIW - in Vegas 4 you have to actually export settings from the reg file along with the folders. This is what I did for the film looks in the film looks package - http://www.jetdv.com/scripts/RC3_VegasFilmLooks.exe

Somewhere in the threads here I detailed how to do it. Vegas 6 may work the same way - as people are reporting the looks aren't showing up I suspect you need the reg settings as well.

Like everyone else, I have them in my Presets folder... now what? These look great to play with and use! How do we do that?

Okay guys, I've updated the site now. It appears you need to download the Sony Plugin Manager from here http://mediasoftware.sonypictures.com/download/step2.asp?DID=471

Then download the preset file that I saved using the Preset Manager from my website,
http://www.simonwyndham.co.uk/Downloads/FIlmstocks.sfpreset and use the preset manager to install the plugin chains onto your system.

Add me to the list of people who really appreciate and enjoy these looks. Its always nice when you can add a different look to your work and even nicer when someone makes their work available for you to do that. On behalf of the forum, thank you very much.
