It sounds as though you are talking about Noise Reduction 1/2.0 which was not a part of any Vegas version but a separate plugin bundle.

If you ever had it it should be in a Sonic Foundry or Sony folder when you launch plugins.

I believe you need to use the Plugin Migration tool for Vegas 5 (I still use 4).

Just send wave to Sound Forge and use Noise Reduction Tool. I just took a fan noise off as track and it works great.

Thanks for the replies. Wobblyboy - I do have access to SoundForge 7, but I haven't been able to find the Noise Reduction Tool you referred to, either as a plug-in or under any menu. Where is it?

Thanks

If you didn't purchase Noise Reduction (a separate plug in that is not part of the Sony plugs package), then you don't have it. It has separate serial # and requires registering just like any app.

Noise reduction comes with some versions. Some package purchases have included it. Also check in Vegas DX Plugins, you might find it there. If not it's well worth the purchase. I found it as a plug-in for Vegas. I assume it put it self their when I installed the program.

One more thing, if you have academic connection, you can buy Sound Forge 7 with free noise reduction at Academic Superstore for $149.
