Final Cut EDL to Vegas?

A friend of mine is shooting some HDV and the plan is to use Gearshift to convert to anamorphic NTSC DV. The editor is using Final Cut but my friend wants to do final tweaks and color correcting in Vegas then render it out from the HDV files. Is there a way to transfer the edit from Final Cut to Vegas?

By the way, it'll just be straight cuts or dissolves, nothing fancy in Final Cut. And before anyone says "Just have the editor use Vegas," this is a real Hollywood editor with major features to his credit. He knows Final Cut, not Vegas, and that's that, unfortunately. And my friend is in no position to tell this guy that he has to learn new software.

The easiest way that I'm aware of, is to export a CMX from FCP, and open that in Vegas. Be sure file names are the same. Any transitions you might have used in FCP will be converted to crossfades.

You're best to log into the Apple FCP forums to find out how to Export AAF from FCP. (www.discussions.apple.com)

Be careful... if you mention VEGAS... you may be in for an earfull. I sure was. While there... do a search for postings by me Lamont_Dennis and you'll see the abuse I took. I never faltered and still feel VEGAS is better than FCP. (I use both but always go to VEGAS when possible)
