Final Cut Files

Hello. First off, I'm surprised and happy that Vegas 14 is extremely stable, as compared to the past few Vegas versions that were under Sony.

I sub some edit work to a Final Cut user. I'd like to be able to  open their files in Vegas. I know this functionality was supposed to work under Sony but it never worked for me. I'm hoping that Magix has made this more stable. I couldn't find anything in the manual.

Thanks!

Greetings & Welcome Ram Hernandez :)

I never tried this, but in File>Import/Export - you can import the FCP10's sequence in XML format (*.fcpxml)*. (or Export sequence to FCPXML)*. But like I tried doing roundtrip with DaVinci Resolve, I'm sure there will be so many inconsistencies - like missing media-generated clips.

How's the experience you have tried the FCP<>Vegas workaround trips on previous version of Vegas Pro's ? What makes this 'never worked' for you?

*or FCP7's XML which is similar to DaVinci Resolve's XML format.

I'll try that thanks! In the past I tried bringing in FCP a few times following instructions but it wouldn't open. I didn't spend a lot of time troubleshooting as this function has just been a "nice to have" for me.
