ProRes is my fav and a QT ProRes reader is available for PC - you can't get this out of a PC and back into FCP this way though.

Other option is uncompressed QT but they're huge and taxing on either system unless you've got hardware support.

ProRes or Avid's DNxHD. Both quality enough for major feature movies.

mxf xdcam can work with a FCP plugin. That is another option.

It's kinda lossy and mxf is a compatibility crapshoot.

SheerVideo is another cross-platform codec option that has several advantages (excellent Y'CbCr-RGB mapping amongst them).

Or indeed the venerable Cineform "visually lossess" codec, I use the "NeoHD" version. Care is needed over whether conversion is needed between MOV <-> AVI. Wonder if any clever little on-the-fly AVI->MOV frameserver apps exist. Had good experience with Prores422 for Mac->PC.
