final DVD video is interlaced incorrectly

Using DVD A 1.c, final DVD plays the videos in a way which suggests that the interlacing is wrong. Original AVI's were interlaced (standard lower field first using premier 65) but they seem to play in reverse field order or not interlaced properly when the DVD is authored (looks this way both on PC and TV) - has anyone encountered this problem?

My unresolved problem may be related, but no one has replied yet. Let's cross our fingers.

AFAIK you can't change field order in DVD-A either or purpose or by accident. You of course can in Vegas. Drop the file in question on the timeline, right click, check its properties under the media tab.

If you imported a file rendered in some other application... all bets off. Who knows what THAT application did/does/didn't.

I did check the field order and it was correct - for some reason, it doesn't process the interlaced AVI files created with the canopus codec very well. How I resolved this was converting the AVI (canopus codec) to Mpeg2 first - I then imported them into DVD A to author the final DVD.
