Final encoding - writing disk

I have been following this forum for a while. As I am not overly pleased with U-lead's MF3, I would like to try DVD-LAB as many here seem to use it. One thing confuses me though. After I have taken my MS3 output and added menus ect in DVD -LAB, will it write the final product out to my DVD writer, or do I need another program to encode.

Yes, inside of DVD-Lab it, on the compile screen, there is a check box labeled something like "immediately burn project" or something to that effect.

Otherwise, you can find on your hard disk where the VIDEO_TS directory was created and just copy that whole directory to the DVD media. Don't copy just the files, the directory VIDEO_TS must be off of the root of the DVD to work correctly in a DVD player.

Maybe yes, maybe no. It's something you have to try. On my system, after finishing with DVD-Lab, I have to burn the DVD using RecordNow Max, burning it as a data DVD. I tried to burn by checking off "immediate burn" and it hangs up.

You can do it one of two ways.

1) As previously mentioned, you can choose to burn immediately after compiling the DVD.

2) I don't have DVD-Lab in front of me right now, but on the same menu where you Compile your project, there is an option to burn to dvd (or something like that). It will take your compiled project and then burn it to DVD.

I have had great success using both methods burning to both -R and +RW discs.

I've had success both ways, too, but I prefer to go via the HD because I can do a final test of the menus etc before I burn to DVD.

Same here.

Most of the time I use PowerDVD to preview the compiled project, then burn it to DVD afterwards.
