I have Studio Plat 9. When I click play on the time line everything plays great. But when I click on render or make movie it is all laggy and choppy? The music is like in slow mo?
"Depends how you render out. There are a dozen ways to render our, with different formats, so without giving us enough info, we can't help you."
To restate without the double negatives, if you will provide us with all of your media properties and render settings and your desired output (dvd, web, portable, ?), someone here "should" be able to help you.
Well, Some of the videos are HD. So I would like to have the final movie in HD and save it to my HD. This would allow me to convert it down to a DVD if I wanted to right?
So I save to my Hard Drive as a AVI file. It is on HD 108-60i YUV ? as the template. I'm in USA and the HD Cam was a HC3 from Sony.
musicvid, please stop getting on my nose on every chance you get. If I replied the way I did, it's because that's how I think of the sentences. English is not my native language, so stop trying to find "problems" with me in every turn. Prejudice is not good. If you have nothing to answer to this person's question, then please avoid the refereeing.
The way you export is uncompressed, so it's normal to get very slow playback. Uncompressed is mostly used for "intermediate" usages, not for casual viewing. Export like this instead: http://eugenia.gnomefiles.org/2007/11/09/exporting-with-vegas-for-vimeo-hd/ and if you need DVDs, you re-export using the available mpeg2 templates. Different usages need different exporting ways.
Eugenia,
Your command of the English language is excellent. You have all the vocabulary and grammar skills necessary to respond in a positive tone, and you have proven that many times in the past. Offering you an alternative to condescension, whether it is intended or not, is something far different than prejudice.
There is a saying, "You will catch more flies with honey than with vinegar."
If new posters' expectations to receive fair treatment and a positive welcome is somehow trumped by another's right to ridicule, then my interest is nil.
BTW, Eugenia's second response to the poster was excellent!
I have to say, without the second reply to my question I wouldn't have a clue of what info Eugenia asked. I'm a newb and when asked for just more info.. well if I had it I wouldn't have been asking.. :)
Thanks for all the help from everyone. I was just using the default render. After I switched it, everything is nice and smooth.
Again, thanks for all the help and it looks like I might get addicted to Sony Vegas.
Your tutorial may be just what I need to solve my problem! I too am shooting with a Sony HDR-HC3 in HDV. Ultimately I want to make a DVD in standard def to play on a television.
I'm confused by one thing. Do I render (export?) to make an HD clip, and then re-export to an mpeg-2 format to make an DVD compatible clip?
