find audio peaks

okay, i'm admitting two things, my hearing isn't what it use to be, and i'm getting lazy scrubbing music tracks for cut points on the beat.

is there any way or script to place markers on an audio tracks peaks/lows/set frequency?

i used to, but i can't anymore,

There isn't an option like this in Vegas. It would surely be a nice feature to have Vegas find/mark peaks. There is a plug from Blue Cat;

That will insert envelope points, but it doesn't drop markers. It might help you a little though. The price (free) is certainly right!

would be nice as a script though. it even makes me want to try writing one, mind you, i gave up with basic in the 70's

sf6 use tools/auto region/ then drums at say 2sec. save as sf.64w, import into v5 with embedded reions. can't do a thing with them in veghas, but they're there marking the beat, etc.,
