Finding project created in VMS

I have a video project that I created in Vegas Movie studio (v.6). I went through the rendering process in VMS and when it asked if I wanted to be sent to DVD Architect Studio (v.3) I said "yes".

When DVDAS opens up I cannot find the file I rendered in VMS.

Where is it?

I cannot find anything except the raw clips on the explorer tab. None of the changes I made in VMS show up in the clips that are found in explorer.

I seem to be missing something vital.

any help will be appreciated.

I've never used that feature, sorry. It didn't exist the last time i played with the Studio version. However, you should have given the file a name when you rendered it. If you didn't specifically give it a name then it will have the same name as the project file you saved. If you didn't name that either then it will have the name "unknown". You can use Windows Explorer's search function to search for the file. It will probably have an extention of either .AVI or .MPG.

If you have lots of "unknown" files on your system then you'll have to look through the results to find the current one. Sort by "modified" in detailed view and it will be easier to find the newest one.

You won't see any changes to the original clips for the very simple reason that you haven't changed any of them. Vegas is only reads the original files; it never alters them. All the changes end up in the final rendered file.

Did you click File / Make Movie / Burn it to DVD? If so, try it again to see the window that pops up to show the location for the rendered files...
