FireWire...

I just purchased a Maxtor 1394 (FireWire) 60GB 7200rpm external hard drive...I also had to purchase a Maxtor 1394 PCI Adapter card that has to 1394 ports...I'll be using one for the hard drive...can I use the other port to capture video from a camcorder with ILINK 1394...or do I need a 1394 "capture card"? I'm new to the whole FireWire thing.

The Maxtor Firewire (OHCI 1394) card may work with both devices at the same time. If it doesn't, adding another card will work (keep or remove the Maxtor). ADS Pyro 1394 cards are the best going.
