First Attemp at editing

Hi,

This is my first attemp at editing. My nephew wanted me to make a music video for him and his fiancé to be shown at the reception. The music was picked by the couple. Please tell me if I need to change anything before I send it to him. The file was compressed, but it's still 9.4MB.

Thanks for your feedback.

If you do it as a Windows media file it will probably make your file size a lot smaller and probably look a little better to.

The tempo of the music and the pacing of the video don't feel like they match. You linger on too many shots, too long. Most could be tightened up considerably, depending on how much footage you have to work with.

This looks like a rough cut at best. Just one person's opinion.

Invisible,
I liked it! Especially liked your transitions using multiple flashes of different ones. Neat idea. Also like your use of different camera angles (cut aways). That helped hold my interest. A couple of suggestions. When the couple is sitting in the car talking, there is a flash of what looks like excess fames on one of the clips. To fix that, go to the clip and step through each frame (use the arrow keys to go frame by frame) and trim the frame(s) that is excess. The music is fast paced but the subject matter is romantic. As a suggestion, try using Celine Dion's "Because You Loved Me" or "Falling Into You" as a soundtrack. It will change the whole feel of the piece into one of romance. Also, didn't see any titles. One up front to give the piece identity and one at the end to give it finality would be good. Overall, excellent effort for your first production.

Jsnkc: Thanks for your suggestion. I does look better now.

VideoCurmudgeon: Thanks for your opinion. I'll try to make it different.

Stewartr002: Thanks for your kind words. The music was picked by the couple. The shots are his ideas. All I did was suggesting, shooting and editing. He didn't like to change the song. I'll ask him about the titles. Thanks Randy!
