First chapter and second chapter are the same; what am I doing wrong?

I searched the forum but couldn't find out why, when I bring in an Mpeg2 created in V4 (with markers), my first and second chapters start at the same place (beginning). I double click the mpeg to add, I then right-click and select "Insert Scene Selection Menu" and then right-click/delete the original; when I preview, my 1st and second chapters are at the same point. I'm sure it's something simple I'm overlooking but please help me out anyway : )

Did you put a marker at the very beginning? If so, try leaving it out.

But how would one play from the beginning? ...Oh man, I know that had to be a dumb question.

There's an automatic chapter marker at the very beginning.

I had this happen to me when I moved the first chapter marker so that it would not start at the beginning where I had color bars. I just deleted the first thumbnail and moved the thumbnails accordingly.
