First DVD-R is a coaster

Got a DVD-R/RW/RAM drive this weekend (HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GMA-4020B, LG Electronics) and tried buring my first DVD movie.

DVD Architect went ahead and write the DVD, and took 25 minutes at single speed to write 4Gbytes to the disk and claimed to succeed. Unfortunaly, the disk is unreadable, even on the DVD writer drive itself!

I then tried Nero Burning ROM and found it complained about reorganising the files to 2k logical block boundary - so I tried UDF/ISO format and created my first DVD movie disk!

So, I can get DVD Architect to create the files and Nero to write it but I can't write directly with DVD Architect?

The message I get from Nero is "DVD-video file reallocation failed" and then a warning that the disk may cause compatability problems on some DVD players. Is DVD Architect creating incompatible DVD video files or is this some quirk of Nero Buring ROM?

I am using a Sony dru500a internal drive and have not made a coaster yet. Knock on wood.
