First time rendering - quality issues

Only had Sony Vegas Studio for a few days. Just created my first DVD - without editing - to see if the picture was any better than viewed within the program window.

Thankfully the pictures are better - though there are THREE observations:

1. Audio is out of synch. I think I *may* have rendered the video TWICE, first in Vegas, and
then in Architecture when linked to from Vegas. Could this be a side effect?

2. Picture on finished DVD is slightly flickery.

3. Picture is a bit soft.

Can anyone guide me on these problems? Hugely appreciated!

If you rendered the video twice, it would be responsible for 1,2, and 3.
Your BEST bet with Vegas Movie Studio, is to render an .avi file for final output, and then drop that into DVD Architect Studio, let DVDA-Studio do the final render.

Thanks, you're right.

I suspect the soft image (which still remains) can be cured by employing some kind of image enhancer. Does anyone reccomend the built-in Vegas sharpener?

Sharpening is always dangerous if you don't have an external monitor to check it on, and you can't check externally with VMS.
I'd strongly urge you to re-render the project as .avi in VMS, then drop into DVDArchitect Studio
