First Time to See This...(Error)

jrazz wrote on 6/8/2007, 8:50 AM
I have honestly never seen this happen before while using vegas. I cannot say the same for Pinnacle.

Here are two errors I recieved while encoding. The first is a wmv and the second is a DV avi file. No FX, just straight cuts plus a soundbed from Cinescore. The footage is m2t files. It is going from hdv to sd. The footage is stored on an external usb2 drive and being encoded on an external esata drive. This workflow and drives have been stable as early as Wednesday.

The only thing I can thing of is that it is stemming from the cinescore generated music? or the hdv to sd? Any ideas on why I cannot encode this?

Here are the links in case the forum distorts the screencaps.

Hi,

I have never had this before, but could it be related to media?

I think I would try to render as avi first the whole timeline, and maybe try to render that to wmv in a new project to see if that could nail the problem somehow.

Let me guess... you're on 7e??

I had render crash after render crash on 7e... very surprising because I almost never crash vegas. It was so bad that I had to use another editor to put together the 50 some odd bits and pieces of final render files that vegas left behind after each crash. It happened with cineform and with HDVsplit. I finally got fed up and went back to 7d..... Vegas is rock solid again.

Okay,

I have rendered to both avi dv and cineform 60i intermediary still a no go. On the intermediary I removed the soundbed and it still locked up at 19%. Not sure what is going on here.

I found the problem. While scrubbing through, I hit an event that shut vegas down like in the pics above. I removed it. I scrubbed on and found 2 more. Apparently something happened either during capture or recording that Vegas did not like and chose to shut down instead of ignoring the issue and letting me continue on my way.

I've seen this as well. If you go back to 7d and problem goes away please let us know!

Ridlin,

It was 3 bad events. I cleared them out and all was well. This was the first time I allowed Vegas to capture in a long while. (it was hd footage). Usually I use hdvsplit. I do not have any intentions on going back to 7d as I deleted the problem events and it worked fine.
