Fixed: Gearshift immediatly crashes in V8

When I try to run Gearshift 1.7 in V8, it immediately crashes with the following error message:

Error HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component.

Installing the latest version of all the VASST freeware Vegas plugins seems to have fixed my Gearshift problem.
