Either get a different file type, or convert it in something like Super by Erightsoft.

OK so creator says this is actually an .avi file, but it's all slanted and jaggy both in the trimmer and on the timeline.
Unusable.
Not like any .avi file I've ever seen.

GSpot or VideoInspector should be able to tell you just exactly what kind of file it is and the codec used.
