Was expecting .avi, but I received a flash file to insert into project.
Looks pretty weird in the trimmer and on the time line.
Forgive my ignorance, but we can't do that in Vegas can we?
I'm thinking we need .avi or mp4 or something, right?

Either get a different file type, or convert it in something like Super by Erightsoft.

OK so creator says this is actually an .avi file, but it's all slanted and jaggy both in the trimmer and on the timeline.
Unusable.
Not like any .avi file I've ever seen.

GSpot or VideoInspector should be able to tell you just exactly what kind of file it is and the codec used.
