Flash question

What is the next best format to render a Vegas file to other than AVI when eventually rendering a .flv file?

Sometimes On2's V6 .flv encoder chops off the end of my videos. Apparently this has been an ongoing problem with On2 for a while when converting AVI's and some say (on the On2 forums) mpeg4 too.

I am trying to do a work around and am currently rendering "problem" files to wmv and the results are not very good.
Any suggestions?

edit - added - I start with m2t files render to cineform avi and then to flix pro. So my question is what is the next best quality codec for my 1440 x 1080 m2t files to render to before flash encoding?

Thanks!

I find MPEG works best with the flix encoder.

I've rendered maybe a thousand or more wmvs through Flix and got excellent results. About 2/3 of the size of the wmv, perfect sync and quality that looked as good as the original. Movs also work well, and I believe that was the preferred original format of Flix's creators, the guys at Wildform.

Thanks UKAndrewC and alltheseworlds.

What codec and settings do you use for best results? I am starting with m2t files and my final output is a 480x272 .flv file. Im all about getting the best quality so any advice you can give would be much appreciated.

Cheers

I use QuickTime. Very easy and efficient , Flash decoders like it.

MH Stevens,

What's your workflow and settings when rendering quicktime?

Thanks!

edit - I did some tests last night and Cineform avi 's converted to flv look soooooo much better than wmv and mov.

I figure I must have my settings wrong. Hey , look at my handle. ; )

Anyway can you give me some clues on your methodiology?

Thanks!
