Flicker on Printed to tape video.

Hi Everyone,

I just installed my VF and went on testing it.
Everything went swimmingly until I Print to tape.

I can see that occasional flicker on playback of tape,
suggesting dropped frames.

However, if I view the rendered file from say Windows
Media Player ( rendered as NTSC DV), it
doesn't have the flicker problem I saw from tape playback.

If anyone has any input, will greatly appreciate it.

Best regards,

Gilbert

PS....
My hardrive is ATA/UDMA100 connected through firewire.
I tried connecting the hard drive as UDMA100, the problem
became worse. Should getting a native firewire HD be
the answer....

Thanks once again

Do you see the flicker when previewing to the device vs.
printing to tape? Do you have a Via chipset on your
motherboard?

Hi Dee,

Thanks for your response, yes I see flicker when
I preview in camera and write to tape.

I don't see flicker when I play the rendered video
on Video Capture or Windows Media Player.

Any idea,,,,

Gilbert

PS...

I tried running on a native firewire hard disk
and it didn't help.

Hi Gilbert, please see post 218. Also, make sure DMA is
enabled if you're using an IDE hard drive.
