Flip camcorder files don't work in Vegas 6

I received some video files from a Flip camcorder that according to Flip's site are captured in MPEG-4 format, saved as an AVI file.

I understand that you are supposed to connect the Flip camcorder to a PC to install video editing software and a codec to make the files usable.

However, I don't have access to the Flip camcorder, and when I put the AVI files into Vegas 6c all I get is audio, no video.

They do work in MovieMaker (Windows XP) and I can save the files from MovieMaker and then they do work in Vegas. But that is a slow, cumbersome process.

Does anyone know of any codecs I can get from the Web that will allow me to use the files in Vegas?

Thanks in advance for any help.
