fluid time code setting?

Hi,

This may be more of a camera issue, but can't seem to find the setting I need. I shoot on a SONY DCR-VX2100 standard def. When I capture in Vegas what I shot on it from the camera, it brings in each time I start and stop recording as individual clips. Today I shot a car show and started and stopped my camera several times. I wanted to bring it in as one long clip of the entire shoot, but instead got a clip for everytime I started and stopped recording.
How can I get one big clip not dependant upon how many times I start and stop when I shoot?
Is this in my camera or the application? I suspect it is a camera issue, as I have captured video from someone's shoot which did not do this although the camera was obviously started and stopped many times.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Turn off scene detection in the Vegas capture application.

When in capture mode go to OPTIONS, PREFERENCES, CAPTURE, and untick ENABLE SCENE DETECTION.
