FLV->AVI->Vegas?

I've got an FLV (flash) video file that I want to bring into Vegas. I've been able to use MacroMedia's Flash software to output the video to AVI format, which Windows Media Player can play just fine. However, Vegas (5.0b) won't recognize either the FLV or the AVI file.

Is there any conversion utilities that will allow me to convert the FLV or AVI file to something Vegas will recognize?

Try exporting it as a SWF file, since Vegas 5 supports Flash import. I don't know if that's FLV import and not SWF though...hmmmmm.

Tried that.

Vegas 5 can only import SWF version 5 and Flash can only output this file in SWF version 6 or 7, not 5. :(

What codec is Flash using when you output to AVI? If it gives you a choice, you should try a more standard codec (Microsoft, MJPEG, Huffy). Even better would be and uncompressed AVI.
