Font-ish * * Stop Press! * * Fonts and Government

US Govt going from Courier Font to Times Roman New 12 pt .. 12 pt is pretty large. .. This means the Govt is leaping from the late 19th Century to about the early 1930s . .. ppphhoooarrhhh - big leap eh?

Not breathtaking in itself, but there appears to be some truly graphic awareness happening at high level. On second thoughts maybe the "Writing Is On The Wall" after all .. President Bush needing stronger glasses?

Link, please?

Sounds dumb to me. Courier is much easier to read than Times New Roman.

But I wouldn't consider 12pt large. 14pt, maybe, but 12pt's pretty standard, innit?

Sorry, bStro, this was a small snippet on our BBC Radio 4 this morning. I've done a search on the Internet for this, but to no avail .. .

Typography is very important in what it can convey and impart to a written/designed/video project. I feel very stroingly about good graphics in a video. So much "stuff" is out there that makes me want to scream ... Less is More ..
