"For Love & Stacie Premiere" In Austin March

For those of you outside of Austin, South By Southwest starts March 10th, well, my movie didn't get in. Apparently they only took to features that were made in Austin and we weren't one of them. So what's a filmmaker in Austin to do with his movie when he doesn't get in? If you said rent a theater and have a screening any damn way you were right.

It will be screening at 4:00 PM at the South Alamo Drafthouse at 1120 S Lamar. I know its a stretch for anyone from here to get there but sure would be awesome. We're selling tickets for $5.00 to try to recoup some of what this is costing. On the off chance someone or someone's is interested please do let me know since its a one time thing and seating is limited.

The film "For Love & Stacie" was shot almost entirely on an XL2, edited completely in Vegas, and went from concept to completion in less than 6 months. Without wanting to give to much away, the basic story surrounds a filmmaker trying to win back the favor of his ex girlfriend by making a film for her and about her. For anything more you'll just have to see it!

Couldn't have done it without ya'll, or without Vegas! =)

Ray, sure wish we could be there.
Having seen the film 3-4 times now, I think it's pretty dang impressive. Some of the scenes are exceptionally moving, and the story is a damn good one.
Good luck with the premiere!

If I could - you know I would - I'm so glad to hear that you've gotten it done Ray. Anychance I could work out a "private" screening - MP4 download?

I can give you an FTP upload (not that it will go fast enough for ya ;-) 50-60 K or so)
I'll send you 5 bux for the viewing too.

Second that!

Doing your own thing screening wise isn't a bad idea, don't know how it works out in the rest of the world but down here cinema managers are pretty keen on 'private' screenings, they get far more return on them than from a regular screening. Staff and management are very helpful, for our screenings they even provided the video projector which saved us a bundle.

Woe Woee Woeee !!! Who said anything about DVD's ? =)

Would love to hook ya'll up but DVD's aren't an option at this stage. Just about everyone involved is on deferred and in for a percentage and that could get complicated quick. With any luck someday I'll get it out there but would much prefer not to go direct. Regardless, I'm flattered that anyone would want to see it !

Best of luck on the screening, and congratulations on the completion of the film.
Perhaps you could rent out theaters in a couple of other areas, take a roadtrip and stir up some talk.

Good luck!!!
