for SonyEPM:

SonyEPM, and anyone else with an answer,

SC Erwin pointed out on another forum that "Save As / trim media" creates an AVI file and a separate W64 file. I tried it and get the same result, even on a small file. For both of us "Render Large Wave Files as Wave64" is turned off.

Why in the world would Vegas do this? There's no reason this function shouldn't just create trimmed AVI files

It creates a problem if you want to drop this media into new projects because the audio isn't imported with the video and isn't automatically in sync.

What up wid dat?

It works exactly as described on page 236 of the manual. And only happens if you choose to trim the media.

Exactly. That's the problem. It works exactly as described and is a big nuisance.

Thanks Ed ;-)
