For those who think Sony puts out software before it's ready...

I just got the first update to our CAM software at work.
Number of fixes: 108 !!!
I recently sent in bug reports that aren't even on that list.
This is from a very reputable company also. Their software is regarded as a standard in CAM.

So, sure does put things in perspective. Sony needs what, maybe 6 or 7 fixes per update?
I'd say they try to make sure the product is ready before shipping...wouldn't you?

What is CAM?

Computer Aided Manufacturing.
I create programs that CNC(Computer controlled) machines use to manufacture parts.
I receive a drawing from a customer, create a program from his specs, then send it out to CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, EDMs(Electrical Discharge Machining) that make the parts.

So it's not a good thing when the software imports a drawing but not the dimensions. (Capture problems in Vegas talk) :)
Also not good when the simulation doesn't show the proper movements (Preview in Vegas?).

When I saw the fix list, I immediately thought of how stable SoFo/Sony software is right from the start. Sure it needs fixes... but I've never seen 108 fixes in the first update!
