Forced to mix outside vegas pro

I was hoping that with the 14 update that I don't have to do my final 5.1 mix outside of vegas. Unfortunately, once all the stems have surround automation, plugins and bus sends the usual audio pops, clicks and drop outs creep in. I have no choice but to mix in slotools. I would have loved to mix it all in Vegas pro.

Some idea of your system specs, scale of the project, plugin load, other software running, etc might help us to give an opinion as to what might be wrong, and if others are facing similar limitations. Unusual for slotools to be more efficient that V in anything .  How do smaller 5.1 projects go ?

There are 4 dialogue tracks, on one track each clip has a pitch effect added. All dialogue tracks are centered on the surround mixer. There are 2 sound FX tracks where I'm performing surround mixing across different speakers with two music stereo tracks and two ambience tracks. I'm running ASIO with a Steinberg UR28 which works as expected in Audition and Slowtools. In vegas, I tried different buffer settings. I also prerendered the video to decrease power usage. I also switched back and forth between GPU and CPU, just nothing seems to get rid of the dropouts, clicks etc. Running on win7 x64.

I do not know why, but since the 10th version of Vegas, playback with enabled automation mode on all the tracks creates similar problems. And just it is in the project 5.1, when the number of tracks 20 and above. Tested by different people, on different computers, in different projects, with different materials. When the number of tracks with enabled automation mode is larger than 60-80 - playback can even stop. A similar project in the 8th version plays easily. If in SVP 10 (11,12,13,14) in such a project I turn off the automation or change settings to stereo - all played very well, too.

I had full success at mixing in pro 14 by using the CPU instead of the GPU with the latest Vegas update. All good to go, thanks for the input.
