Forever "Queued" in network rendering?

Hello all,
I recently got my copy of Vegas 6.0 + DVD (I have 6.0b installed) and was excited to use its network rendering capabilities. It seems that many other forums start out with the same problem... where the network rendering starts up nicely on the Vegas box and the network renders, however nothing happens, and the solution is either not stated or unknown. I have tried looking at the log files, but all they say is 'started at....'
There are no firewalls.
All the shared directories work. (I'm using automap)
I am using no plug-ins at all to keep it as simple as possiable.
The rendering process only gets as far as opeining up a blank vegas window on both machines and the stitch '-AO.veg' file is created and can be seen on both machines.
I will go so far as to say I have tried not selecting the distribute rendering tab, but rather try running it on the same machine, with same results.
After hours of trial and error, can I assume that this is not a network problem, but a bug?

Has anyone been able to network render anything on the 6.0b version?
Please give me suggestions or guide me to the 'hidden' thread I cannot find.

I have successfully used network rendering in 6.0b, but don't do it often. I too had the "Queued" problem; meticulously following the troubleshooting section of the Vegas Online Help solved it for me. Here's a cut & paste from the help file - I initially didn't think it applied to me, but it solved my problems....:

"a. From the Start menu, choose Run to display the Run dialog.

b. In the Open box, type CMD.

c. Click OK. A DOS window is displayed.

Type ipconfig at the command prompt.

Your Windows IP Configuration information is displayed. Note the Connection-specific DNS suffix setting.

Update your computer's DNS suffix:

a. Right-click My Computer on your desktop and choose Properties from the shortcut menu (or press the Windows key + Pause) to open the System Properties dialog.

b. Select the Computer Name tab.

c. Click the Change button to display the Computer Name Changes dialog.

d. Click the More button to display the DNS Suffix and NetBIOS Computer Name dialog.

e. In the Primary DNS suffix of this computer box, type the DNS suffix you recorded in step 2.

Click OK to close all dialogs and restart your computer."

Hope that helps.. Rick
