MSmart sent the following and I did it about four weeks ago but I am unable to find Video menue is. It is sad on my part I found it as soon as I read the note. Can someone tell me where I can find the video menu please?
This the message MSmart sent "Make sure your cam is in playback/vcr mode, connect the firewire cable, turn on the cam. You should hear a sound when the PC recognizes the cam as being connected. If VidCap doesn't default to the cam but is still seeing your webcam, go to the Video menu and choose your cam. You should then be able to capture from it."

I hope that's not a correct quote. In all my cameras you need to turn the camcorder on *first* then select either playback or record mode.

Every cam is different. On mine, there is a dial that you turn to make the mode selection so I make the selection then turn it on. Yours must be on the touch screen, which would require the cam to be on first.

soundararaj, I found a manual online for your Sony DCR-TRV320E cam and see that power switch selects the mode. Pushing it up turns it on and in record mode, but pushing it down turns it on in Player mode. On the top of your cam is where the Play and Stop buttons are.

Connect the firewire cable, turn the power swith to Player mode.
